This work was created in collaboration with the model and the make up artist. We were looking for everyday objects to transform them into something completely different. It became wooden clothespins that formed an art object around the body. It was complicated to make this happen; gravity and the delicate material proved to be a real challenge to keep the object in place. But we succeeded in attaching the object to the body.
This is a close up where we chose to cut the portrait in half. The photograph is powerful, mysterious, yet warm. Her piercing gaze creates wonder and radiates women empowerment. An important subject in this day and age, with women increasingly standing up for themselves in this, sometimes, harsh world.
This work is beautiful in any interior and especially with warm, natural tones, but also in rooms that are quite tightly furnished. Thereby this picture becomes a real eye-catcher.
