This pretty seaside town in Pas-de-Calais is located on the opal coast. The pretty promenade has a large seafront, where you can take a lovely stroll.
We stayed in this area in March and were lucky enough to experience a real storm. Lucky because it is a mighty fine sight to see the waves pounding the promenade with great force.
Nice, also for photo's, is that there is a lot of haze in the air then.
Quite a lot was closed at that time, but still, for me, Wimereux exudes a nostalgic atmosphere because of the many houses in Anglo-Norman style (from the belle epoque), with its beautiful frescoed facades.
You can also take lovely walks in this area. Among others, we visited Cap Gris Nez and Cap Blanc Nez.
Who am I, a small intro:
Once started as an architecture photographer with Robert Oerlemans as my photography docent at the art academy in The Hague.
