About ‘Where the Caribbean Sea Keeps Moving’ by Anouk

Some places by the sea are beautiful simply because you could keep watching them forever. I took this photograph during our trip to Aruba, at a place where the Caribbean Sea is much less calm than along the island’s famous white beaches.

What caught my attention most were all the different layers in the water. Close to the rocks, the sea has bright turquoise tones, gradually changing into deeper shades of blue towards the horizon. In between, the waves keep rolling in, leaving behind white lines of foam that create a different pattern every few seconds.

The dark rocks in the foreground add something extra to the scene for me. They show just how powerful the water can be along this coastline, while the large blue sky creates a feeling of space and calm above it all.

This is exactly the kind of view that makes me stop for a while when travelling. There is no busy beach or famous landmark, just the sea constantly changing in front of you. Every wave is different and only a few seconds later, the same view has already changed again.
