The lighthouse on the seawall is also known as Noorderhoofd. Or photo model, as it is one of the things in Westkapelle that gets photographed the most. The lighthouse is 16 metres high and has four floors. It has stood on the dike since 1874. Climb the steps, go outside and feel the sea breeze on your cheeks. At high tide, it almost looks like you are standing in the North Sea! The lighthouse regularly hosts exhibitions and is therefore open to the public.
When I took this photo, it was late afternoon, a heavily overcast day in autumn and just before sunset. Rays of light pierced through the cloud cover creating a solar harp...which made for a beautiful picture !
