The aftermath of a winter storm made for beautiful surf this morning at high tide. As the sun broke through, the lighthouse and the waves were beautifully illuminated. Wijk aan Zee has two piers that break the high waves with the right wind. I always wanted to photograph a lighthouse with the waves crashing against it and I succeeded nicely here.
I used a hefty zoom lens (500mm) but was able to capture the whole thing well at 100 ISO, making the photo nice and sharp.
