My work "Water Drops on an Illuminated Plastic Surface" centres on the observation of structure, light and material. The picture shows a multitude of water droplets resting on a translucent plastic surface. Targeted lighting creates subtle reflections and refractions that make the drops appear like small optical lenses. The colour scheme ranges between cool blue, turquoise and silver, interspersed with violet accents that change depending on the incidence of light. These colours lend the picture a technical, almost futuristic appearance.
The idea for this picture arose from the desire to show everyday materials in a new light. I was interested in how minimal interventions - water, light, perspective - could be used to achieve an abstract, almost graphic effect. It's not about staging, but about visualising details that would otherwise be overlooked.
The atmosphere is calm, almost analytical. I wanted to create a picture that invites close observation - without dramatic effects, but with depth. The message lies in the reduction: beauty often arises where you don't expect it.
In interior design, this work is particularly effective in clearly structured, modern rooms. It blends in unobtrusively, but brings a subtle tension to the room through its graphic clarity, cool colour palette and interplay of light and form.
