"Warm shades of brown; Two escargots together" is a macro photo of two escargots (snail shells). These snail shells in this work have beautiful warm colours and a background that goes along with the colours of the snail shells. This makes it a quietly warm picture in terms of colour. The houses lie on a mirrored background, creating an "upside-down" image of the snail shells in the background. This gives a nice recurring effect in the photo.
The snail shells are turned slightly towards each other, so they seem to belong together.
When taking the photo, of course, the snail shells were empty and I chose to photograph them in such a way that the centre of the spirals of both shells is sharp and from there onwards the sharpness gradually decreases, creating a sense of depth in the work. At the same time, this also gives a kind of calmness to the picture.
This work could hang beautifully as wall decoration (on ArtFrame or aluminium, for example) in the bedroom, dining room or simply above the sofa! Also beautiful in business locations such as on the wall in a meeting room, office, waiting room or practice room!
