Two sandstone buttes rise from a wide red desert as late sun turns the ground to copper and rose. The valley floor shows faint tire tracks and pale dust patches between low shrubs, and long shadows carve soft lines across the terraces. Distant mesas sit in gentle haze so the forms read clean from foreground to horizon. Look closely and you will notice light ledges on the rock faces, tiny talus fans at the base of the buttes, and a thin path that guides the eye through the scene.
This artwork is my ode to unhurried evenings on the Colorado Plateau, when heat fades and the land breathes. I wanted clarity and calm rather than spectacle, the classic travel poster balance of simple geometry, steady glow, and space to linger. It is about quiet awe, the feeling of a long look when stone, light, and distance do the talking.
I built the piece with clean vector shapes, layered grain, and subtle paper texture to echo vintage screen print. A restrained palette of clay, sand, and slate keeps it timeless and friendly to interiors. On a wall it suits living rooms, offices, and modern rustic spaces, pairing with wood, linen, and neutral paint to add a serene desert accent without clutter.
