The former Van Nelle factory on the Delfshavense Schie in Rotterdam is considered the most important industrial monument in the Netherlands. This was recognised worldwide when it was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in June 2014.[1] The former Van Nelle factory, designed by Leendert van der Vlugt of the Brinkman & Van der Vlugt architectural firm in collaboration with designer Jan Wiebenga, is a textbook example of the new building.
