About ‘Turf huts in Skaftafell, Iceland’ by Frans Blok - photos, art and other wall decoration
A torfbaer is a traditional Icelandic turf hut, covered with a layer of earth, moss and grass to keep the indoor temperature at a comfortable level.
Since the Icelanders use geothermal energy to heat their houses,this type huts can mainly be found in museum conditions, like here in Skaftafell National Park.
