A tribute to Vilmos Huszár (1884-1960) he was a Hungarian-Dutch painter, draughtsman, sculptor, arts and crafts designer, advertising designer and graphic designer (Miss Blanche cigarettes). He is especially known as one of the founders of De Stijl in 1917, the famous artists' group of which Theo van Doesburg and Piet Mondriaan were also members. From 1915 onwards, his work is characterised by a bright use of colour and a flat style under the influence of the cubism of Picasso and Braque. His desire to eliminate depth and perspective in the representation ultimately led to compositions of blocks and beams after 1917. As 'space-colour compositions' he applied this also in interiors. Work of Huszár is extremely rare because his oeuvre till today for a big part is untraceable.
