About ‘The timekeeper’ by Joachim Neumann

In an endless field of sunflowers stands a mysterious woman in a Victorian black dress. Her figure is firmly anchored to the ground, the fabric of her robe merging with gnarled roots - as if she were part of nature itself. Above her, deformed clocks float through the gloomy sky, time dissolving, liquefying, slipping away. Several ghostly images of herself stride through the field, like echoes of moments past or to come. The sunflowers gaze after her - some bear human features, others a single, seeing eye.

The scene is still, but charged. A visual meditation on time, memory and identity - captured in a dream world reminiscent of Dalí, but with the photographic precision of a modern work. Surreal, melancholic and deeply symbolic.
