About the artwork

A rusty, massive ventilation system hangs ponderously from the ceiling and dominates the scene in this abandoned room. The pipes, covered in thick layers of dust and rust, bend and twist in different directions as if they had developed a life of their own. The shape of the structure almost looks like the head of a mechanical creature - with closed, yellow "eyes" and various outlets that look like long, weathered limbs. The industrial patina of the metal, the layers of dirt and the rough condition tell of long years of neglect and standstill.

The ceiling brackets that hold this monstrosity in place are already corroded by rust, and the dull light that filters through the windows illuminates the eerie details of the machine. The scene looks like something out of a dystopian film, in which this abandoned plant hangs in space like a stranded giant - a once mighty machine that has now been left silent and useless.

The sight creates a mixture of awe and unease, as if this rusted construction is waiting to be reawakened, but only the silence of decay remains. The visible signs of decay and the menacing shape make this place a sombre monument to past industrial power.
