About ‘The first spring sun at Place des Vosges, Paris’ by Ron Poot

Place des Vosges is one of the most beautiful parks in Paris. The Palace Royal, the royal palace, used to stand here.

Around the park is a gallery that runs under the houses. This houses many art galleries, among other things. You can also enjoy the lively street scene in the Marais on a terrace, and in good weather the lawns are populated with people reading and lazing around.

The park is lined with a hedge of lime trees. In early spring, the buds turn red, giving off a red glow that matches well with the colour of the facades of the houses around it.
