About ‘The eternal temples of Bagan’ by Frank Photos

Bagan, in the heart of Myanmar, is a mystical plain dotted with thousands of temples and stupas, remnants of a rich Buddhist past. This former capital of the Pagan Kingdom, founded between the 9th and 13th centuries, is home to more than 2,000 religious buildings, testimony to a flourishing era. At sunrise or sunset, the sight is breathtaking: a sea of pagodas emerges from the golden mists, creating a haunting, unreal atmosphere.
Visitors can explore these temples on foot, by bike, or in a hot-air balloon for a breathtaking panoramic view. Among the must-sees, the Ananda temple impresses with its symmetrical architecture and four Buddha statues, while the majestic Dhammayangyi intrigues with its mysterious history. Bagan is also a place of spiritual contemplation, where you can feel the serenity of the place while discovering ancient frescoes and refined sculptures.
