Even a spent flower can have beauty in it. Especially in a black-and-white version. This series came about after a day's work in the garden. I cut off spent flowers and pulled weeds out of the ground. The shapes of the wilted flowers, together with the incidence of light, inspired this drawing in pencil. The fragile leaves, together with the composition, make a beautiful drawing.
