The Western Scheldt is an estuary in the Dutch province of Zeeland, located between Walcheren and Zuid-Beveland on the north side and Zeeuws-Vlaanderen on the south side. Unlike the Eastern Scheldt, Grevelingen and Haringvliet, it was not closed off as part of the Delta Works. The reason for this is that the port of Antwerp remains accessible.
