The John Frost Bridge, popularly known as the Rhine Bridge, is a traffic bridge in Arnhem-Centrum across the river Nederrijn. The bridge is named after the English lieutenant-colonel John Dutton Frost. In the Second World War the bridge played an important role because of the airborne landing and battle of the Allied troops in September 1944, as part of Operation Market Garden. The bridge has become a place of pilgrimage for veterans, relatives and other interested parties concerning the Battle of Arnhem. (Source: Wikipedia)
