About ‘The Hengifoss waterfall (Iceland)’ by Martijn Smeets
The Hengifoss, at 118 meters, is one of the highest waterfalls in Iceland. It is located on the northwest side of the island.
The red lines in the rock behind the waterfall were formed by fired clay after a volcanic eruption.
In the foreground you can see how the water continues to flow along the rocks and stones.
