About ‘The Gothic church of Sainte-Mère-Église in Normandy, France’ by Henk Meijer Photography
Sunset at the Gothic church of Sainte-Mère-Église (Manche department) in Normandy with a well-preserved Romanesque transept.
This is also the church with the famous bell tower from which US paratrooper John Steele was left hanging on the night of 5-6 June 1944. He was captured by the Germans but later managed to escape.
