About ‘The Gates to Ankor’ by Jelmer Laernoes

With this photo, I tried to capture the heath day and the past. Scooters in a place where time seems to stand still amid the ancient splendour of Angkor Wat. A street scene under the majestic gate of the the temple area, which is one of the vastest in the world.

During an extended trip across several continents, Cambodia stole our hearts. It was the encounters with the friendly locals, the stories of ancient temples and the vibrant energy of daily life that ignited the creative spark. The goal was to capture the timeless beauty of Cambodia and how it fits into the present day and that is exactly what this photo does for me.

The emotion this place evokes in me is that of wonder and curiosity about the past. What would it have looked like here in the past. How impressive it must have been in its heyday! It evokes a deep sense of respect for the country's rich history and culture, and reminds us that human experiences and traditions persist through the ages.
Hopefully, it can be a special addition to any interior that longs for a touch of worldly beauty, adventure and inspiration.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
