Sometimes images do not arise by chance, but are the result of a carefully planned search. I took this picture during an early morning walk together with my partner - also a lover of photography, with or without her smartphone. We were out and about with the goal of taking images. The backpack full of camera equipment, tripod under the arm and a head full of hope for the right light conditions.

It was cold. So cold that the batteries drained faster than usual and our fingers had to be warmed up every now and then between shots. We stopped frequently - because when you walk with two photographers, you are more watching than walking. Meanwhile, the sun slowly crept up and a veil of mist hung between the trees. It was a race against both the light and the lifting of the mist. But it was worth it.
