River Thames in London is beautified by HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge, among others.
The HMS Belfast is a light cruiser of the Town-class of the Royal Navy . It is one of the few World War II ships preserved by the British, it is located today in the Port of London . HMS Belfast is berthed on the River Thames near London Bridge tube station, very close to another attraction of military history, the Britain At War Experience.
Tower Bridge is a bridge over the River Thames in London completed in 1894. The bridge is a tourist attraction. It is located next to the Tower of London, from which it also takes its name. The section between the two towers is a bascule bridge that can be opened for shipping. Two suspension bridges connect the central section to the banks. Two footbridges, 44 meters above the water, connect the towers and provide a counterforce to the suspension bridges. Since November 10, 2014, part of the floor of one of the suspension bridges over a length of 11 meters has been replaced with glass panels 7.5 cm thick.
