Above the deep blue waters of Khao Sok National Park in Thailand this floating resort, tucked among green jungle and jagged islets. The composition is almost graphic: straight lines of decks and bungalows stand out against the soft, organic landscape. The little boat in the lower left corner gives a sense of scale and movement, as if you were just entering that stillness.
This photo is not only visually appealing, but also tells a story. During my stay here, I woke up every morning to the sound of monkeys and even saw elephants along the shore in the distance. Snakes snaked in the trees, and nature felt intensely alive. I wanted to capture that feeling of being connected to something bigger in this image: peace, overview, and at the same time the excitement of the unknown.
The use of colour is calm but powerful. The combination of dark green, blue and natural wood tones fits well in a variety of interiors. Think of a quiet Japanese-style living room, a bright study, a modern flat or a holiday home. Even in a more outspoken interior with bohemian influences or travel souvenirs, this picture makes a strong, atmospheric centrepiece.
The symmetry and simplicity make the image timeless. It draws your gaze, but does not overpower it. An invitation to pause and dream away to a place where nature plays the leading role, and time seems to stand still.
