Terracotta flowers. Colorful abstract art in vivid colors

by Dina Dankers

This series of modern abstract mixed media artworks explores the balance between color, texture, and expressive mark-making. Each piece is built from layered collages of organic abstract shapes and monotype textures. Some artworks include subtle flower or plant silhouettes, while others remain purely abstract, focusing on texture, rhythm, and color interaction.

The color palette moves between bright vivid tones and softer pastel shades, creating contrast between energetic accents and calm, muted areas.

Rather than telling a literal story, these artworks emphasize mood, surface, and color relationships. The abstract language allows each piece to adapt naturally to different environments and viewing distances. The series works well in boho, romantic, eclectic, Scandinavian, basic, and design-focused interiors, including living rooms, bedrooms, studios, and creative spaces.

Together, the artworks form a cohesive collection that celebrates mixed media techniques, modern abstraction, and color-driven expression, offering visual interest through texture, contrast, and layered simplicity.
