The Palendorp monument is located on the beach near the Bergeendstraat in Petten (NH). This beautiful work of art consists of 160 posts of between six and twelve metres in length and was made as a gift from the Van Oord-Boskalis consortium. The piles are in the shape of ten houses and a church. They are a reminder of the old Petten, which was inundated by the sea a long time ago. Around sunset there are often several photographers active. If the sky is favourable you can take nice colour pictures, and there are many of those to be found. When I was there, the colors were a bit disappointing. In black and white it resulted in a very nice picture!
