About ‘Subtle softness’ by AnkieArt

This digital watercolour is a representation of my imagination, an abstract drawing with watercolour.
I find the subtle blue-grey colours and abstract lines create a soothing and soft image.

I really like the transparency of watercolour paint. Mixing the paint with more or less water creates the different transparent shapes. The pigmentation is airier than oil paint, for example, which for me appeals more to the imagination.

This work is an abstracted representation of a a branch with flowers, watercolour with line.

It is minimalist and clean, with the warm, slightly greyish colour giving a relaxing feel. It would fit well as an eye-catcher in a minimalist interior, Scandinavian or Japandi.

My work is inspired by nature, flowers and plants, all the beauty Mother Earth gives us. My personal tribute! Let's take care of all that beauty, and use it with respect and love, nature can do very well without us, we not without nature

I was always drawing ー as early as primary school, the margin of my notebooks was full of scribbles that didn't have much to do with what was supposed to be there. A lot of nature, especially flora.

The older I got, the more impressed I became with nature: the blooms, the awe-inspiring beauty, the details of flora.
