A few times a year in the Netherlands we have what is known as a supermoon. A supermoon is a full moon that rises larger and brighter than usual. As a result of the moon's elliptical orbit around Earth, the distance from Earth to the moon usually varies between about 357,000 km and 406,000 km, averaging 384,450 km. The shortest possible distance is 356,400 km. Despite this difference in distance and brightness, the phenomenon is barely detectable with the naked eye. I started looking until the stork's nest on a pole slid just in front of this supermoon. A beautiful and funny effect!
