I actually photographed these flowers and then edited them into an oil painting. This processing gives the work extra depth and a painterly texture, without losing the vibrancy of the flowers. This work exudes strength and cheerfulness, yet the subdued background keeps it calm.
It fits beautifully in an interior where colour is desired but not overpowering. A still life that always brings a touch of summer into the home.
