Once again travelled to Oostvaardersplassen in the Netherlands. This spoonbill making the landing made an attempt to escape her or his intrusive young. Unfortunately, this could not be enjoyed for long as less than two seconds later the young had already arrived and were happily begging again.
The spoonbill is always a beautiful bird to watch, despite their rather peculiar beak, with which they zigzag through the water to gather their food. And even more beautiful is when they have several birds foraging at once, then I think there is little chance of escape for their prey.
In terms of lighting, this bird came flying towards me super nicely, the still low summer sun completing the picture as far as I am concerned.
