Tucked deep among steep cliffs in the Soča Valley, I found one of Slovenia's most magical places: Slap Kozjak. This waterfall plunges from a dark gorge into an emerald pool below. The light falling in from above through the opening gives the place an almost mystical atmosphere, as if you have walked into a secret cave designed by nature itself.
While photographing, I heard nothing but the constant roar of the water and the soft echoing of falling drops along the rock walls. The long shutter speed let me transform the movement of the water into a silky smooth flow, contrasting perfectly with the rough, dark textures of the rock. The turquoise of the water is almost unreal - a colour so pure you wonder if there are any places left in Europe so untouched.
This work brings together the power and silence of nature in one image. In a living room or hallway, it becomes an eye-catcher that immediately transports visitors to another world. In a bedroom or meditation corner, it gives a sense of calm and depth, as if looking at a hidden shrine.
With this picture, you bring a piece of Slovenia's hidden beauty into your home - a silent reminder of the wonders that occur where water and stone have met for centuries.
