The Schwedagon Pagoda is the largest temple in Myanmar. This conical pagoda, 98 metres high, with 50,000 kilos of gold leaf and many thousands of precious gems, is located on the Singuttara hill in the suburbs of Rangoon. She is one of the most important Buddhist places of pilgrimage in the world. According to tradition, eight hairs of the last Buddha are kept in the pagoda, together with relics of three previous Buddhas.
