The Edro III shipwreck near Peyia in Cyprus is a popular place to visit at sunset. The ship ran aground near Peyia in heavy weather on 8 October 2011. It was en route from Limassol to Rhodes with gypsum boards. All crew were rescued. The more than 80-metre-long ship was tried several times to be towed, but failed. In 2013, all pollutants were removed and the hull was made watertight. It has since become a tourist attraction and there are no plans to remove the ship.
