Ships in the port of Amsterdam during loading and unloading.
The large seagoing vessel transferring its cargo into the barge. The large crane with grab sways and turns in a rhythm of work. The large silos, the mountain of scrap metal in the background and the windmill on the horizon. The second crane busy loading or unloading another ship.
The harbor is a moving landscape. The loads of the ships differ as much as the ships themselves. The ships come or go loaded with cargo or empty and ready to pick up the next cargo.
In this sunny photo the harbor comes across nicely but it is always watchful. And the port is always in motion although the port looks quiet in the picture. if you look closely you will see a lot of movement in the picture. A panorama of people ships movement and nature....
Raw and the port as it is, the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
