About ‘Shadows on the Weena’ by Peter Brijs

This picture touches me because it shows exactly what Rotterdam is to me: sleek, modern and yet human. Everything in the image feels solid and controlled, those columns, the glass, the rhythm of the lines. And against that are those shadows. People who are there, but you can't hold them. As if the city is constantly moving forward and you are allowed to stand still for a moment to watch it happen.

It gives me a quiet kind of tension. Not busy or chaotic, but that recognisable energy of being on the move. Haste without panic. Movement without noise. I also like the fact that it's not about one person. It's about everyone, about the idea of the city as flow. And yet it is not chilly, precisely because those vague figures make it warm. That's why I love taking this kind of photo's.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
