The Scottish Highlander (Scottish Gaelic: Bò Ghàidhealach; Scottish: Heilan coo), also called Highland Cow, is a mostly reddish brown cattle breed originally from Scotland. They have long hair and long horns.
Thanks to their thick coat this breed of cattle is suitable to be used as large grazers all year round. In the Netherlands the animals can often be seen in nature reserves and recreational areas. They need little care and are rarely aggressive, but in case of an unexpected confrontation, reserved behavior is recommended. 3] Highland cattle also feed on plants that are ignored by many other cattle species.
