About ‘Santa Lucía de Tirajana sunset’ by Ton Tolboom

If you drive through the green valley Barranco de Tirajana, you automatically end up in the village of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. Of all the villages in Gran Canaria, this was one of the few where it was love at first sight. The atmosphere this village exudes is amazing. During the day, you can almost shoot a cannonball the moment the locals take their siesta. This is because curiously, tourists are hardly present in the pretty streets of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. Possibly this is because the village is not on a route between the major resorts and places of interest. The fact that guidebooks barely pay attention to this atmospheric village will also have something to do with it. It is precisely the absence of hordes of tourists that makes the village extra beautiful.
