About ‘Sacred Heart Cathedral, Pakse’ by Frank Photos

Located in the heart of the town of Pakse, in the south of Laos, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is a remarkable religious building, both modest and solemn. Built by French Catholic missionaries in the early twentieth century, it bears witness to the colonial heritage in a predominantly Buddhist region. Its sober architecture, with straight lines and a grey façade, contrasts with the exuberance of the surrounding temples, but inspires a feeling of deep contemplation.
The cathedral, which is still active today, is a place of prayer for the small local Christian community. It is distinguished by its two symmetrical towers, its discreet coloured stained-glass windows and the cross overhanging the building. The calm that reigns here, even in the middle of the day, provides a peaceful space for spiritual reflection and meditation.
Although rarely visited by tourists, it is a living testimony to the dialogue between cultures and faiths in Laos. The Sacred Heart Cathedral is also a discreet but powerful reminder of the country's religious and historical diversity.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
