About ‘Root path | Forest photography’ by Laura Dijkslag

This particular trail is in the Dolomites National Park in Italy. Not a rigidly laid-out hiking trail, but a pure nature trail full of winding tree roots and rugged rocks. The roots cling to the earth, twisting around the stones and forming an almost surreal pattern. The tall pines all around create a mystical atmosphere, enhanced by the gentle mist that passes through the forest. The moody colours - deep greens, warm autumn colours and grey rocks - give the scene a powerful feel.

This piece is perfect for nature lovers and fits well in interiors with a natural or peaceful feel. Think Scandinavian, modern, industrial or rural interiors. The earthy colours bring balance to a room and create a calm, almost meditative atmosphere. An ideal eye-catcher in the living room, bedroom or an inspiring addition to a workplace.
