We look straight into the rhino's eyes. This rhino, a female, blows air out of her nostrils and dust swirls up from the ground among the dry grass. The rhino's skin is wrinkled, grey and brown. It is a white rhino that you can recognise by its straight, wide lower lip. The background of this rhino photo is blackened, making the two pointed horns stand out sharply. The broad legs of the rhino have three toes and in this photo you can see the front legs emerging from the dark background. The grass is golden yellow and the savannah dusty. This photo was taken at Waterberg in Namibia, a private game reserve with five rhinos that you can search for on foot or by car. You can then get very close to the nesus horns!
