About ‘Project Noonlight – Poppies #1’ by Olga Don Photography

In this work from the Noonlight series, you can see young poppy buds bathed in warm, golden light.

The curved stems and soft spines give the image an almost tangible texture, whilst the background dissolves into a dreamy haze of yellow, green and deep shadows. Only when you look longer do you discover the fine lines of light along the hairs of the buds and the subtle layering between sharpness and blur.
The inspiration for this image arose during a moment when the sunlight breaking through the clouds completely transformed nature. What is normally small and unremarkable suddenly took on something powerful and almost picturesque. I wanted to capture not only the plant, but above all the sense of warmth, growth and stillness that the light evoked.

The atmosphere is intensely warm and organic, as if the image is glowing from within. For me, this work is about vulnerability and strength coexisting: fragile forms that seem to grow stronger precisely because of the harsh light.

The work was created using natural backlighting and a shallow depth of field, causing parts of the image to fade whilst others are illuminated. In post-processing, contrast and warmth were enhanced to bring out its almost cinematic quality.

In an interior, this work brings warmth, depth and a natural sense of calm. It fits beautifully in spaces with earth tones, wood, soft fabrics or a minimalist atmosphere where a single powerful image is allowed to speak for itself.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
