About ‘Portuguese Shells’ by Jolanda Oosterhoff

I found these beautiful shells on the beach of a tiny island off the coast of Portugal. I was surprised to find so many lovely shells there. The colours and shapes intrigued me. At first, I had simply photographed this arrangement. But the photo kept inspiring me, and I wanted to capture them on canvas as well.

This turned out to be quite a task, which took me over 8 months to complete. Every shell is different, has a different texture and had to be painted using a different technique. There were so many details, and you can see that in this painting. A real gem. The colours are subtle yet still stand out. The original measures 100x100cm.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
