Portrait of a Girl in Gold – Mystical Golden Portrait of a Woman | Pop Art by Hilde Remerie – Digital Art, Bauhaus & Photography

*Portrait of a Girl in Gold* is a mystical and powerful portrait of a girl, in which a young face is partially concealed behind long hair. This makes the girl’s gaze stand out all the more: as if she is looking directly at you from her golden world. The portrait was originally drawn in pencil on paper and then digitally edited, with the background and the use of colour in particular lending a new dimension to the drawing.

Gold is the key element that sets the mood in this artwork. Gold, yellow, orange, brown and bronze blend together to form a warm colour palette with a luxurious and almost mysterious aura. The simplicity of the composition ensures that the face remains the focal point. Furthermore, the hair that partially falls across the face lends the portrait an air that is both mysterious and gentle.

Various styles came together whilst creating this piece. Pop art and anime were key sources of inspiration, giving the image an interesting combination of a drawn portrait of a girl, clear forms and a contemporary feel. It is therefore not a classical portrait, but rather a personal digital adaptation of a hand-drawn base.

This golden portrait of a woman fits beautifully into a modern, contemporary or atmospheric interior. The warm shades of gold and brown complement natural materials, wood, brass and earthy colours well. The portrait can also stand out powerfully against a dark wall.

‘Portrait of a Girl in Gold’ is a unique work of art for lovers of golden art, mysterious portraits of women, illustrative portraiture and the combination of pop art and anime.
