The porcupine is a fascinating animal, known for its unique armour of sharp spines. At dusk, it emerges from its hiding place to scavenge through the countryside, always alert but with an impressive weapon to protect itself.
When it feels threatened, it puts up its spines and rattles them to scare off enemies. If that doesn't work, it can drive its spines into the attacker with a sudden movement. Despite its robust defence mechanism, the porcupine is a peaceful animal, preferring to wander quietly in search of food.
