A pilot pilot boat returns to the Koopmanshaven in Vlissingen. The Westerschelde has many shallow spots and strong currents. It is therefore one of the most difficult rivers to navigate. Most ships on the Westerschelde must therefore take a pilot on board. In the background the Orange Mill (1699), this is a flour mill and a former peeling mill on the Oranjedijk in Vlissingen. It is the mill closest to the sea in the Netherlands.
