About ‘Pico del Teide and trade wind clouds’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

An impressive panorama unfolds in the late afternoon at the Mirador La Tarta. From here, the view stretches majestically to Pico del Teide, the highest peak in Spain at 3,718 metres, which dominates the landscape. The sun is low and bathes the volcano in soft, golden tones, making its striking contours appear even more imposing. The wide sky is a deep blue, while the Atlantic Ocean with its trade wind clouds pushes in from the right. These cloud banks glide slowly over the sea until they cling to the slopes of La Palma.
The endemic Canary Island pine grows on these steep slopes, its lush green needles standing out starkly against the milky-white bands of cloud. The pines, which have adapted to the barren conditions here, act as silent guardians of the landscape and lend the scenery an almost magical, tranquil atmosphere. In the distance, the Teide seems to tower above everything, surrounded by a graceful simplicity that inspires respect for nature. The last rays of sunlight spread across the craggy volcanic landscape, creating a play of light and shadow that casts a spell over every observer. A moment of stillness, captured in this panorama, which reflects the unspoilt and sublime nature of the Canary Islands.
