In the wild, these birds mainly eat nuts, seeds and fruits. In addition, plantations are regularly visited. For example, sometimes many of them are eating very quietly in a citrus plantation. They can also wreak havoc in orange groves with hundreds at a time. This is one of the reasons why they are hunted.
