Mythological, grotesque statue in the recess of a wall of Königsberg castle in the town of the same name in Bavaria, Germany. It is a small statue in a part of the defensive wall where stone steps lead to the higher edge of the castle wall. As the head and hands fall into the light and the niche in the wall behind them remains in darkness, it creates a magical three-dimensional image befitting a mythical figure.
Note that this is a photograph with deliberately limited depth of field to enhance the three-dimensionality of the image. The eyes are sharp and the del of the hands, the rest is out of focus.
Königsberg is a small, picturesque town not yet overrun by tourists. It is located in a beautiful area in southern Germany.
