About "Mysterious, abandoned houses in historic Palermo"

About the artwork

This photographic, urban architecture shot was taken during my Easter trip on 24 April 2019 in the afternoon hours with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 20.0 mm f/2.8). I discovered this invigorating motif while wandering around the narrow alleyways and side streets in the historic centre of Palermo.

Palermo has spruced itself up! As the capital of Sicily, Palermo was chosen as the Italian Capital of Culture in 2018 and this status has helped Palermo undergo a transformation. Today, Palermo's historic centre is home to a pretty pedestrian zone where chaos and traffic once reigned. Palermo surprises with great sights, for which you should allow a few days.
The best way to discover Palermo is on foot or with the Hop On Hop Off bus, which promises an exciting tour of the city and allows you to hop on and off at various stops, taking in a whole host of sights.
We recommend a tour of the old town, which you can easily do in one day and visit the most important sights in the centre.

The charming and morbid house façade with its crumbling plaster and washed-out colours has a particularly enchanting flair and is ideal for living and working spaces. The graphic abstraction with the painted graffiti style gives the image motif a modern, wild atmosphere with a contemporary feel that conjures up an exciting and inviting ambience in all workspaces.
