About ‘Munnekezijl bridge’ by Henk Cruiming

At Munnekezijl, the old lock (Binnenslús) from 1741 was already situated in the bend of the river Lauwers. The bridge with flood lock in the Munnekezijlsterried was built in 1882 to improve the water discharge in northeast Friesland by draining water from the Frisian basin on the Lauwerszee.
